Nikyle Fitzgerald, Site Coordinator at the YMCA of Greater Toledo, first attended the EPIC Toledo Leadership Summit in 2015. He highly recommends the event to all young professionals in the community. |
Nikyle Fitzgerald (NF): My very first Summit was in the fall of 2015. I was intrigued and curious about my first event with EPIC. I was both impressed and encouraged to see a vibrate community of young professionals gathered to for personal and professional development.
EPIC: What was the biggest take away from that event?
NF: The impact of seeing the heads of the 4 colleges sitting on one stage beside the head of ProMedica committed to speaking to our generation of young professionals was a truly inspiring sight. The variety of speakers from our community spoke to how resourceful and welcoming the Summit is. The Summit showcases not just a social gathering of like minds, but the unique and artful outlook our area has on professional and personal development.
EPIC: What has your involvement been with EPIC since then?
NF: I have been to several social events that I found to be very creative and tasteful including the social 72 degrees at the Toledo Botanical Garden. After the Summit I had the opportunity to participate in the Board Member Accelerator Series. The experience has opened my eyes to the depth of responsibility and impact sitting on a board has. That insight has allowed me to navigate through options feeling both prepared and optimistic.
EPIC: What is your advice to young professionals that will be attending the 2016 EPIC Toledo Leadership Summit?
NF: Unforgettable life changing memories can start with a “Hello”
